LIFT & DUMP DRUM DUMPER

APPLICATION / PRODUCT: 

Dust-tight discharge of various powders into a receiving vessel at a height of 83″. Unit was engineered to handle drums of varied height and diameter, and featured a 1,200# lifting capacity. Unit was designed with a roller conveyor skip for easy loading.

CUSTOM FEATURES:

Drum dumper included a custom eccentric 304 stainless steel pour cone polished to a 180 grit finish. Eccentric cone design allowed unit to accept drums from 19-24″ diameter without the use of an adaptor. Pour cone included a fully mounted 6″ pneumatically actuated Salina Vortex orifice gate. Dumper was designed for a 150° rotation, with a 60° angle of discharge.

Our exclusive MTS Lift & Seal System™ provided push-button, dust-tight sealing of drums to the fixed pour cone.

The carbon steel structural channel frame was painted with MTS Safety Blue two part industrial epoxy. Unit controls featured both an “automatic” and “manual” mode of operation. In manual mode, controls were “dead-man” type, requiring the operator to push and hold buttons for operation. In “auto” mode, PLC controls enabled the user to load the drum, depress and release a “raise cycle” button, the unit would seal drum to the pour cone, lift and rotate drum, seal the discharge nozzle against the receiving vessel, and open the valve to discharge the material. A single push of the “lower cycle” button would close the valve and bring the drum back to the “unloading position”.
